BUSINESS CHALLENGE: Following the merger of three group companies, LOTTE Co., Ltd., a leading Japanese confectionery manufacturer, embarked on a digital transformation journey. The company needed to upgrade its IT infrastructure to support increased teleworking demands during the COVID-19 pandemic and enhance overall IT agility.
SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION: As an Integration Architect, I directed the phased migration of 2,500 devices from on-premises infrastructure to a hybrid VMware Cloud on AWS environment, marking the first implementation of VMware Horizon on VMware Cloud on AWS in Japan. This project included upgrading operating systems from Windows 7 to Windows 10, significantly improving employee experience and IT efficiency.

OUTCOME DELIVERED: Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the first phase of 1000, Windows 10 VDI migration was completed in just eight months, resulting in a 30% increase in productivity and a 20% reduction in IT support calls. This strategic project positioned LOTTE for future growth by leveraging cloud technology to enhance employee experience and drive business profitability.
