What Digital Transformation means

Digital transformation is the integration of digital technology into all areas of a business, fundamentally changing how businesses operate and deliver value to customers. It involves a cultural change that requires organizations to continually challenge the status quo, experiment often, and get comfortable with failure. This sometimes means walking away from long-standing business processes that companies were built upon in favor of relatively new practices that are still being defined.
Digital transformation is the process of using digital technologies to create new — or modify existing — business processes, culture, and customer experiences to meet changing business and market requirements. This reimagining of business in the digital age is digital transformation.
Digital transformation has become a catchall term for describing the implementation of digital technologies to re-engineer existing processes or develop new services that better engage customers, support employees, improve business operations, and drive business value to the organization’s bottom line.
